Diocesan Youth Council Application

This year, we are trying something new with the structure of the Diocesan Youth Council. Although the DYC members will still be one collective group, and all come together several times a year, we acknowledge that the young people of the Diocese of Massachusetts have a broad range of talents and interests, and we hope to provide opportunities for a broader range of involvement.

This year's Diocesan Youth Council will be divided into several different, smaller groups, each with their own responsibilities and commitments. One group will be responsible for being the voice and presence of young people at the diocesan level. They will lead DYC participation in Diocesan Convention, and serve on Diocesan Council, deanery assemblies, and represent the interests of young people to the wider church. Another group will plan and run retreats for young people at Barbara C. Harris camp. A third group will work to organize young people around social justice issues such as racial reconciliation and creation care. It is possible to serve with more than one group, or to move between groups, as you feel drawn.

No matter which group or groups you chose to participate in, DYC will require a commitment of time and energy, and prayer. We would love to share in this work with you, but be sure you understand--it will require work. Please take your time filling out this application and discerning where you are called to serve.
